Celebrating The Thorworld Team In Our 40th Year
As we mark our 40th Anniversary, we’re reminded that our continued success and longevity could not have been achieved without the efforts of our dedicated employees. At Thorworld Industries, we believe in an ethos centred upon nurturing staff and helping them achieve their goals through relevant training and continued support.
We currently have 29 staff members, many of whom have been with us for a significant amount of time and have helped us to develop our established, harmonious and hardworking team.
Our longest serving member of staff is Elizabeth Brown, who joined us over 36 years ago to control all ramp sales and hires. She still performs that role today and we are eternally grateful for all her hard work.
Steven Revill, our Works Manager, joined us 22 years ago as a Fabricator Welder Trainee apprentice. He became Works Manager in 2020 following the retirement of our long-serving Manager Roger Smith, further demonstrating our commitment to staff development.
Harnessing relationships designed to help employees thrive is also key to our development methodology. Twenty-five years ago, our founder and Managing Director, John Meale began an association with Loughborough University, agreeing to take on one Engineering Graduate Trainee each year. Today, two of those graduates still work for Thorworld – Mark James, Director of Administration, Quality & Safety, and Ian Langan, Technical & Engineering Director – with both now holding positions of Directors and Shareholders.
We wouldn’t be who we are without our team, and we thank each member of staff for their continued hard work and commitment as we celebrate our fortieth year.
